Jonel Alvarado

Jonel A. Alvarado, 10, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He was born in Rhode Island Children's Hospital in Providence, RI on December 15, 2005. He was the son of the late Ana I. Alvarado.

His mother, Ana Alvarado, loved him very much and spent a short period of time with him before she passed on November 12, 2010 when he was only 4 years old. He is survived by his two older siblings Laura Alvarado and Byron Montesflores who took him under their wing and did everything they could to take care of him.

Jonel was truly an authentic being. He was very active, happy and caring. At the age of 9 on October 4, 2015 he was diagnosed with liver cancer. He was so strong and brave that even throughout treatments and surgeries he never once complained. He instead offered his family hope and reassurance that no matter what he'd be ok. In his time of need he thought of the feelings of those he loved and said to them, "Don't do that, don't cry." He was such a blessing and will be missed by all who have had the privilege of being in his life.

Jonel may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.
