William J. Irons

William J. Irons, 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Brockton, Massachusetts where he received excellent care by all of the doctors, nurses and staff.

He was the son of James Lomba, of Cranston, Rhode Island and the late Gladys Dean of Providence, Rhode Island.

William was born in Providence, Rhode Island on January 19, 1951.

Joe Irons, which most people knew him by, left High School to join the military and served in the Vietnam War. He was an Army Veteran.

He worked for the VA Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island for many years.

He was married to Maria (Rose) Irons of Oak Lawn, IL from 1970-1976.

William is survived by his 5 children: Monica Lee of Providence, RI; Ryan Correia of North Providence, RI; Deana Irons of Oak Lawn, IL; Reana (Irons) Edmonds of Johnston, RI; Duane Fortes of Central Falls, RI and son-in-law Raymond Edmonds III of Johnston, RI. 

William also leaves behind his 4 grandchildren: Ryanna Cabral of Providence, RI; Ryan Irons of Wallingford, CT; Kristopher Archie of Oak Lawn, IL and Jada Irons of Johnston, RI.

William is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Bingham of Providence, RI and brother Donald Irons of Providence, RI.

He had many special family members and friends.

He loved karaoke and dancing. 

He will definitely be missed!
