Melvina Grace Straker, 80, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. She was born in Providence, RI on November 11, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Percival Ferrara and the late Helen (Wade) Ferrara. She was the wife of the late Marcus Straker.
Melvina is survived by her children, Leona Fry, Leola Cherry, Helene Gabbidon, David Cherry, Roland Ferrara and the Rev. Ray E. Ferrara and well as her siblings, Rev. Phillip Ferrara, William Ferrara, Theodore Ferrara and Victoria Braxton. She also leaves many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Other than her parents Percival and Helen, Melvina was preceded in death by her husband Marcus Straker and her siblings, Percival Ferrara and Vivian Johnson.
