Please accept my condolences for your loss.
Losing a loved one in death is the most difficult pain we deal with. When we lose someone we love we are left with many emotions including anger, disbelief and denial. Our lives are forever changed. Over time we find the strength to go on with our lives but the grieving continues. Our love never dies, it continues to live in our hearts and memories. May you find comfort in the the love of family and friends and in scriptures (John 5:28, 29)

My sincere condolences to the entire family. Mrs, Butler was one of the many "mothers" of the Olney St Baptist Church who always made sure that we were behaving. I always remember how she always looked fabulous, dressed to the tee! Oh, And the choir, her voice singing soprano, my grandmother singing off key alto and Mrs Bradley in there too. Many fond memories. I hope that you all are comforted knowing that your mom was a wonderful person and she is now in the care of the Lord..who she did her daily work for. Go with peace.....

Memories of good times and hearty meals flood my mind as tears flow. I knew aunt Helen as a young child. My parents Pauline n Calvin were friends of both Mr. N Mrs. Butler. My mom n aunt Helen sang together in the choir. Her big stylish hats n the best smile n hugs when she would see me.she glowed with LOVE. Love for many. I'll always cherish her unselfish memories. Ms. Butler was a no nonsense person and loved her for that, as I look back. We look at how she had us walk a life of who we are as adults now! As she walked around church in her big hats, she rocked them! I always loved her spirit because she didn't beat around the bush that she loved us all! I remember when she worked with the girls at the Benefit street recreation...I believe it was to show the girls, a how too! Knowing she was there was a sense of comfort when I told my Mom she was there, volunteering. Ms Butler, one of many Olmey Street Baptist Chirch, Moms that had us sit up straight and I loved you for that and I shared that with her when I was older. My son, Maynard got to spend time around Ms. Butler when he was young and then I knew he was given the same love I grew up in! I feel so blessed to have grown up to share my life with Ms. Butler, Thank you, Ms. Butler for standing in the gap for all the youth at Olney Street you made an impact on our lives. Well done, thy good and faithful servant...Rest now in peace!❣

All of us kids in the Village or Codding Court never ever past thru the doors of John Hope for camp, or after school rec and didn't see Miss Butler. All kinds of trips after school,, the movies, what ever it was, she would be there. Miss Butler would stick up for us if we was bad. Then she'd pull us aside for a little pep talk. She and Mr. Clarke were experts when it came to children. There are a few other adults in my child hood from John Hope that I loved dearly, she truly was one. She gave us some gooooood memories. Rest Peacefully Sweetheart.

We could walk into and visit your home on Cypress Street and it was like being part of the family...so to me, I've lost a mom as well. Your mom did the same - lest we forget eating half a pan of lasagne for lunch when it was cooling for dinner time! There was love all around and that was a very good thing. We are all better for this generation that is leaving us over time. We will cherish their contributions to our lives and, in turn, those who follow us.
