I heard about Arthur last night and I'm so sorry to have this news. I had emailed him a while back and didn't hear from him, but I thought perhaps there was some other explanation.
Arthur and I canvassed for President Obama in NH over the summer of 2012. Lots of back roads and hot afternoons! We took turns knocking on doors and coding the voter data on our list. How many times to knock, before I would turn to Arthur for advice. He would say quietly "let's go" and we would move to the next house. It was so cool to hear Arthur talk to whoever answered the door, explaining the President's policies and why the person should vote for him.
After that summer we would meet for coffee in Providence to reminisce. I have a copy of Arthur's book and now I will treasure it even more. He had usually seen Patrick and his other children and was so proud of all of them.
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. I will miss Arthur and I can't imagine how this affects all of you. Love, Jean
