Yorqualla Makor, affectionately known as, Nyamah, Yoko, Yoyo, Mayo and Girlfriend, passed away in Providence, RI at the age of 49 on May 13, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones. Yorqualla was the loving wife of William Doe for 15 plus years until her death.
Yorqualla was born in Monrovia, Liberia on September 5, 1972. She was the daughter of the late Paye-Paye and Gormah Makor. Yorqualla moved to Pawtucket, RI in 2003. She worked full-time as a direct care worker at Wrentham Developmental Center and part-time as a CNA at Elmhurst Nursing Center. Yorqualla was a dedicated worker and gave her clients exceptional care. Yorqualla was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Providence, RI and can be remembered for her strong faith, her love of family and friends, her big heart, bright smile and contagious laugh.
Yorqualla is survived by her husband William Doe, her children Verkeh Kerkula-Garkpee, Abraham Kerkula and James Doe. Her siblings, Marie Makor-Wennie, Harry Makor, Jarpa Makor, Nowai Makor, Kpana Makor, Naglee Makor, Kevin Makor and Betty Cooper, who took exceptional care of her during her illness. Her granddaughter, Makehla Blackie, and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Yorqualla was predeceased by her beloved son Kertee Kerkula, her parents Paye-Paye and Gormah Makor and her brother Jonathan Makor.

Light refreshment will be provided after the burial at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church 445 Elmwood Ave, Providence, RI 02907. The repast will be held at 49 Whitmarsh St, Providence, RI 02907.
