It is with heavy hearts that the Wolobah, Vezele, and Lavela family announce the death of Mr. Vezele Wolobah, Sr. He died at Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, Rhode Island(RI), on December 30, 2025, at 4:05 pm, due to a prolonged illness, at the age of 71.

Mr. Vezele Wolobah Sr. was born in Cape Palmas, Maryland County, Liberia, West Africa, on August 18, 1954, to the late Staff Sergeant Lavela Gorviaboi Zaza and Kebeh Vezele Zaza. His parents hailed from Fessibu Town, Zorzor District, Lofa County, Liberia. Mr. Vezele Wolobah, Sr.’s life was built on love and perseverance.

He immigrated to the United States from Liberia in pursuit of new opportunities and a brighter future for his family in 1997. He was a hardworking man and approached every responsibility with determination and integrity. He was a friend to many, magnanimous with his time, welcoming in spirit, and always ready to bring people together.

He will be dearly remembered as the lifeline of his family, someone whose laughter, warmth, and vibrant personality filled every room he entered. Mr. Vezele Wolobah, Sr., leaves behind a legacy of hope, determination, joy, and connection. His memory will live on through his son, grandchildren, family, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and contagious spirit. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was predeceased by his parents, Staff Sergeant Lavela Gorviaboi Zaza and Kebeh Vezele Zaza, and his daughter, Gbolu P. Wolobah. He is survived by his longtime companion, Lucy Mason Wolobah; son, Vezele Wolobah Jr.; stepdaughter, Anne D. Wolobah; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, eight siblings (four brothers and four sisters); and a host of other relatives.

Those wishing to honor Mr. Vezele Wolobah, Sr.’s memory through tributes during the services, please be at the church early to write your name down. Only those whose names are listed before the program will speak during the wake and the funeral.
