Ruth Ann Nance

Ruth Ann Nance gained her angel wings on November 1st, 2022 in Clayton, NC. Ruth was 71 years old.

Ruthie was born in Anderson, SC to Annie Lee Nance. She, along with her Mother and older brother , moved to RI  shortly after her birth in 1951. She lived in Providence,RI most of her life with her siblings James Walker, Thomas, Robert, Ronald, Thelma, Constance and Pat Nance and James Madison. Their family were lifelong members of Macedonia AME Church.

She is survived by her 2 sons Douglas Nance of Clayton, NC and Michael Nance of Pawtucket, RI 

Ruth was passionate and adventurous in many aspects of her life. She was an avid reader and a teacher to many. She loved art which she shared with her grandchildren, Chanel Evora, Janae Nance, Janel Jones, Damien Nance, Michelle Nance and Mikal Nance. She also has 4 great grandchildren. She is also very loved by her countless Nieces and Nephews.

Ruth Ann enjoyed her life in RI. She is remembered as a Model, Dance Coach and she LOVED to cook and entertain friends & family.

She worked at the Foster Grandparents Program, Charette Printing and Sackett St School.

She moved to NC in 2010. She enjoyed her time there with her son Douglas and his wife Valorie Nance who loved and cared for her until her final days. 

Ruth Anns family will celebrate her life with a Memorial Dinner on November 20, 2022 at 25 Maple St in Pawtucket, RI 2-6pm. Friends are welcome.
