Russell L. Nicholas 6/23/36-5/09/22
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Russell L. Nicholas. Russell entered into Heaven on the evening of 5/09/22. Russell L. Nicholas was born in Providence, Rhode Island on June 23, 1936. He was the youngest of five children and the son of the late Mildred B. (Lincoln) Nicholas and Walker S. Nicholas. He is survived by two sisters, Eunice Geron of Chicago, IL and Jean Cabral of Johnston, RI. He was preceded in death by the late Leona Ross and Bernice Walker. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was a carpenter by trade and a self-taught musician (drummer). He was a longtime member of the Olney Street Baptist Church since childhood attending services every Sunday until taken ill.
He was known for his loving and friendly manner to all he met as well as his sense of humor. As he got older in age puzzles became his favorite hobby. Completing a 1000-piece puzzle weekly. Russell will be greatly missed here on Earth but is now a welcomed joy in Heaven. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be set for a later date.
