Rose F. (Rezendes) Williams, 95, of Providence, Rhode Island was born on September 15, 1924 in Wareham, Massachusetts and passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Miriam Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Rose had a fall in September, 2019 and was a resident of Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for the past six months where she was given much love and care by the Second Floor Staff. Rose was the daughter of the late Joseph Rezendes of Forgo, Cape Verde and the late Mary Delgado Rezendes Alves of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Robert (Sonny) Williams, Jr. and her son Robert (Bobby) Williams, III. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Watkins of Providence, RI, Grace May Wilcox of Raleigh, NC and Nancy L. Phillips (Kenny) of Providence, RI. Also surviving Rose are 18 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great grandchildren, her sisters-in-law Renee (Winnie) Rezendes and Antoinette Rezendes, her daughters-in-law Dorothy Williams and Onna Moniz- John, a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed and loved her many years on this earth being a Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother.
Rose graduated from the Rhode Island School for the Deaf. She was employed by Ideal Knife as a laborer for many years and was a member of the Providence Deaf Club.
Rose was a sports fan and would spend many hours watching and enjoying Golf (Tiger Woods & Phil Mickelson), Boston Red Sox, Tennis (Serena Williams) and The New England Patriots (#12). She enjoyed reading the Providence Journal, People, and doing word search puzzles.
Rose was also predeceased by her brothers Juvenal, Joseph, Henry & Edward "Chino" Rezendes and sister Dominga Perry as well as her sons-in-law, Ronald C. Watkins and George H. Wilcox, Jr.
