Roddie “Timmy” Scott Jr. passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with illness. Born on May 25, 1960, Timmy has now found rest in greener pastures.
Timmy proudly served in the National Guard for five years. He later worked as an HVAC technician at the Marriott Hotel for 18 years and continued his career at the Providence Housing Authority, where he was employed for eight years.
He was the youngest of three children born to the late Gwendolyn (Hardy-Scott) Gilmore and Roddie Scott Sr. Timmy is survived by his brother Brian Hardy and his wife Evelyn of Rhode Island, along with their four sons. He also leaves behind his sister Ronita Appiah and her four children, also of Rhode Island.
In addition, he is survived by his brothers Michael Scott of Florida, and Ty Fortes, Joseph Fortes, and Ryan Scott of Rhode Island; and sisters Teshon Fortes and Lacey Fortes of Rhode Island. Timmy also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many others who will deeply miss him.
He will be remembered for his warmth, strength, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.
