Roberto “Robert” Ramos Benitez, 64, of Providence passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in Providence, RI. Born in Caguas, PR, he was the son of the late Felicita Benitez and Arcadio Ramos. He went to school at Manuel A. Toro Morice and studied Auto Mechanic Repair at the Escuela Superior Vocacional República de Costa Rica in Caguas, PR. He worked as a Press Operator at Stylecraft, Inc. for over 30 years. Robert had a passion for music, and he played the trumpet all his life. He was the life of the party and always full of jokes. He was guaranteed to make you laugh because his laughs were contagious. He was the first of the siblings to be licensed to drive and as a result he often drove them to many of their first experiences in life like festivals, concerts, and beaches. Most importantly, Robert was a family man who loved his daughter dearly and was very proud of his grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Felicita Benitez and Arcadio Ramos of Caguas, PR, and his brother Jose Manuel Medina of Florida.
He is survived by his daughter Aileen Ramos, eight sisters, and grandchildren Abdiel Pedraza, Yariel O Peña, Ninoshka M. Fernandez and Lyneska M. Fernandez, and his great grandson Sebastian Pedraza.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 6 – 9 PM at Bell Funeral Home, 571 Broad St. Providence, RI.
The family would like to thank Providence Rescue 5 and Rhode Island Hospital for their assistance and diligent care. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
