Bailey V ( Sybil), and Yhonna Bailey ( Harold Smith) both of Providence. Renee is also survived by her loving nieces and nephew:  Ayisha Varella, Rodney Stevens, Ebonee Bailey, Ashanti Stevens and 2 great nieces and one great nephew.

Renee is also survived by her maternal aunts Kathryn Fernandez Blunt of East Providence, RI Doreatha Freeman of Rieglewood, NC; Uncle Randolph Freeman ( Anita) of Rieglewood, NC. Her paternal great aunts Mrs. Elizabeth Bailey-Crawford of Silver Spring, MD., Mrs. Mary Fagg of Plainfield, N.J., and her life long friends Zina Brown, Carmen Roderick and the late Cheryl Soares-Gomes whom she loved dearly.

Renee began her education at the Henry Barnard Elementary School then on to St. Mary's Academy Bayview in Riverside, RI, class of 1981. Renee participated as a fierce competitor on the Bay View track and field teams and served as Class President her Senior Year.  She continued to stay active with her Bayview Alumni up until her passing and was in the process of planning their 40th class Reunion.  Renee continued her education at Virginia State University earning her BA in Special Education and later earned her MA in education at Providence College.

Renee worked as a Special Education instructor at The Stevens Home for Boys in Swansea MA later moving to the Providence School Department as a Special Education teacher and ended her career in education as the Head of the Guidance Department at Central High School in Providence, RI. Renee's students were her life. She was committed to each and every one of them  from High School through college and in many cases throughout their adult lives.  To quote one of her former students , "If you attended Central High School in the past 25 years - you definitely knew and loved Miss Bailey- she was the best teacher and counselor to so many of us."  Renee loved her students and they loved her!
