Navidad Keeshan Blyther went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
Navidad, known as “Keeshan”, was born on December 25, 1956 in Washington, DC. Keeshan was educated in the DC Catholic and public school system and held many trades including Barbering, electrical and construction. He had a great love for music. Some of his favorites were oldies but goodies. He played drums and sang with his baritone voice. He had a jovial spirit. He enjoyed being outdoors and grilling. He also enjoyed going to concerts. Keeshan was very stylish. He loved wearing his suits with hats. He also loved to cook and he enjoyed a good meal.
Keeshan loved his family and he made sure they knew just how much. He was a proud son, brother, cousin and uncle. He took his uncle duties with such pride and honor. Keeshan was humble but full of humor, charming and witty.
He was the fourth of six children born to the late Samuel and Lillie M. Blyther. Keeshan is survived by his brother, Samuel M. Blyther and sisters Johncene Chase, Deborah Shelton (proceeded in death), Lillie C. Blyther and Savetre’ Stancil (Edward), all of whom reside in Washington, DC.
Keeshan leaves his three beautiful and loving children-- Shontay Clark, Keeshan Blyther, and Shannon Blyther; along with two beautiful grandchildren--Tayshon and Isis. He leaves his adoring nieces and nephews—Aaron and Jamie Blyther, Jemaine Chase, Sherron Smith, Brandon (proceeded in death) and Brian Chase, Brittany Blyther , Christian and Donisha Blyther, Tobias and Tolayah Stancil, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. He was our Uncle Daddy!
Keeshan spent the last four years of his life in Providence, RI. Affectionately called “Navi” by his friends and additional family in Providence, he was loved and cared for by Joyce Braboy, his “Joy”, best friend and fiancé. He loved to spend as much time as possible outdoors, enjoying the parks and beaches of Rhode Island. As stated above, Keeshan enjoyed a good meal and concerts and frequented local restaurants and entertainment venues in and around Providence.
He was well-loved and will be truly missed.
