Nancy Cosme Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy Cosme, 46, born in Brooklyn, NY on March 11, 1975 - passed in Central Falls on December 28, 2021.

She attended Pawtucket public schools and Northeastern University in Boston and was a brilliant student from a young age. She was a whiz at solving crossword puzzles, Sudoku, cracking crime investigations on TV, knowing who the culprit was on Lifetime movies from the get and followed football avidly as a Pat’s and Buccaneer’s fan.

Oh, and if her house didn’t smell like Fabuloso and she didn’t have a pack of Coca Cola in the fridge with a bit of Latin freestyle in the background, while Sassy, her former dachshund, waddled about to the beat, she was not happy! She didn’t miss her bi-weekly eyebrow threading, hair cutting/tinting appointments and shoe/fashion exchanges with her sisters Eve and Mari and always called herself our guinea pig!

Our “jincha” as we fondly called her, had a loving and giving personality and she gave what she didn’t have to bring a smile to others and to make peace, gaining much love and appreciation from many in her circle of family and friends. She is sweetly remembered by many: Her mother and father, Luz Esther Cosme and Angel Manuel Cosme Rodriguez; her two sisters, Evelyn Cosme Jones and Marilyn Cosme, and her brother, Angel Manuel Cosme, Jr., along with spouses, her nieces/nephews, grandnieces/grandnephews, aunts, uncles and cousins from across the country and Puerto Rico.

Nancy raised her eldest Kraig Cosme and her legacy through him includes grandson Kai Ocean and she raised her youngest, Kaylani Jeanette Cosme, who graced her with granddaughters Aveya and soon to be born Azaleya.

Life came at Nancy with challenges, from unexpected illness to various curveballs, which in the end she always managed to catch to make the best of her situation, as she was accompanied by her true team of family and friends. She tolerated with kindness those that we know failed to understand her, and, ultimately, she was a survivor in her own right and unique way, and inspired us all to do all that we can with whatever much or little we have in hand, when life inevitably comes at us in hard, fast and unknown ways. This is her legacy.
In the days before her passing, she left this world literally feeling beautiful, calm and peaceful. And we know that God is able to give her that peace that surpasses all understanding that we cannot always fathom.
