Marion Evelyn (Jones) Smith Alabi, 71, of Pawtucket, RI was called home to be with the Lord on October 16, 2020 after a short-term illness.
Marion was the wife of the late Ronald Lord Smith, and Owalabi Tairu Alabi who hails from Nigeria, Africa. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Edna Evelyn (Taylor) Jones and her father Walter William Jones.
Marion’s beautiful spirit is carried on by her five children, her oldest son Walter Smith of Pawtucket and his wife Heather, Howard Smith of Warwick and his wife Lia, her daughter Edna Smith of Pawtucket, her daughter Moriam Alabi of Johnston, and her youngest son Ibrahim Alabi of Warwick. She also leaves her loving sister, Lillian Woodard, her husband Honor and their adult children, 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, a large extended family and dear friends from every walk of life.
Marion attended Central High School in Providence, RI. She continued her education at the Community College of Rhode Island where she earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Marion worked as a Home Healthcare Aide with the Visiting Nurse Association of RI.
Marion loved her family and friends. She had a kind and compassionate heart with a natural love of life that connected with people. Marion enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was fun, beautiful, and genuine. If she loved you, she was your best friend forever. Marion is dearly missed and highly regarded by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
