María Luisa Orozco López

Con profundo amor y tristeza, la familia Letrán anuncia el fallecimiento de María Luisa Orozco López, quien partió en paz a los brazos del Señor el 5 de Octubre de 2025, en su hogar en Providence, Rhode Island, rodeada por el cariño de su familia. Tenía 97 años.

María Luisa nació el 23 de Septiembre de 1928 en Guatemala tierra que siempre llevó en el corazón. Fue la amada esposa del fallecido José Abraham Letrán y la querida madre del fallecido Julio Letrán, quien la recibe en el cielo con los brazos abiertos.

Le sobreviven sus hijos Rolando, Andrés, Rosa, Miriam, Sara y María Victoria,  quienes la cuidaron con amor y devoción. También deja un legado inmenso de 24 nietos, 42 bisnietos y 10 tataranietos, a quienes enseñó con su ejemplo a vivir con gracia, respeto, fe y amor sin límites.

María Luisa fue una mujer fuerte,  bondadosa y llena de vida. Amaba coser, cocinar para su familia y bailar alegremente al ritmo de su querida marimba. Cada plato que preparaba, cada puntada que cosía y cada sonrisa que regalaba estaban llenas de amor.

Su fe Católica fue su guía y su consuelo en cada paso del camino; nunca perdió la esperanza ni la gratitud, incluso en los momentos más difíciles.

Su presencia iluminó la vida de todos los que tuvieron la dicha de conocerla. Nos deja el ejemplo de una vida sencilla pero plena, vivida con alegría, trabajo, fe y amor hacia los suyos.

María Luisa vivirá por siempre en los corazones de su familia y de todos los que la amaron.

With deep love and sadness, the Letran family announces the passing of María Luisa Orozco Lopez, who departed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on October 5, 2025, at her home in Providence, Rhode Island, surrounded by her loving family. She was 97 years old.

María Luisa was born on September 23, 1928, in Guatemala, a land she always carried in her heart. She was the beloved wife of the late Jose Abraham Letran and the cherished mother of the late Julio Letran, who will welcome her in heaven with open arms.

She is survived by her children Rolando, Andres, Rosa, Miriam, Sara, and María Victoria, who cared for her with love and devotion. She also leaves behind a vast legacy of 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she taught by example to live with grace, respect, faith, and boundless love.

María Luisa was a strong, kind, and vibrant woman. She loved sewing, cooking for her family, and joyfully dancing to the rhythm of her beloved marimba. Every meal she prepared, every stitch she sewed, and every smile she shared were filled with love.

Her Catholic faith was her guide and comfort through every step of her journey; she never lost hope or gratitude, even in the most difficult moments.

Her presence brightened the lives of all who had the blessing of knowing her. She leaves us the example of a simple yet full life lived with joy, hard work, faith, and deep love for her family.

María Luisa will live forever in the hearts of her family and all who loved her.
