Margarita Maldonado

Margarita Maldonado, 66, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed surrounded by her loved ones, on August 27, 2026. Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, Margarita migrated to Los Angeles, California at the age of 16. At the age of 37 she moved to Providence, Rhode Island and made her permanent home. In both California and Rhode Island, Margarita built a life centered on love, family, and togetherness.

Margarita was a generous, kind, and loving woman whose warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She gave out compassion to others freely and without strings from a young age. Margarita was a women that gave her love freely and made those around her feel cared for and valued. At the age of 53, she lost her eldest daughter, Yesenia Maldonado Toc from complications with ALL cancer. She acted as an anchor for her family during this time. 

As a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, she always placed her family first. To her remaining daughters, she was more than a mother - she was their greatest source of love, strength, comfort, and guidance. She was, simply, the best mom they could have asked for.

Margarita leaves behind her beloved husband, Carmelo Maldonado; her daughters, Diana Maldonado and Skarlet Maldonado Toc; her son-in-law, Erick Rivas; and her cherished grandchildren, Jaycee and Jace Valle Maldonado and Sebastian Rivas Maldonado, who brought immense joy and love into her life. She also leaves behind her mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many close friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

Her kindness, sweetness, and unconditional love will continue through the family bonds she nurtured and the lives she touched. The love she gave will remain a lasting part of her husband’s, children’s, grandchildren’s, family’s, and friends’ lives. Margarita’s memory will be treasured in the countless moments shared with her and in the love she leaves behind.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
