Obituary

 

Marcia Joan Carpenter, 89, of 16 Wesleyan Avenue, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 6, 2023.

She was the wife of the late Thee Atris (H) Carpenter and the mother of Robert (Bobby) Carpenter and Tracey Carpenter Degaitas. She was the daughter of the Late Albert Lee and the late Eunice Dunlap Burgess.

Early in her life, she was a licensed practical nurse where she worked at the Miriam and Rhode Island Hospitals.

She will best be remembered as the owner of Carpenter Realty of 672 Broad Street.

As a licensed broker and appraiser, she was able to help many people particularly of the South Providence area, purchase properties who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to.

In addition, she was an advisor, mentor and confidante to many family and friends. She will be missed.

Besides her son and daughter, she leaves 3 grandchildren. Joslyn Ryder, Aaron Carpenter and Tia Degaitas as well as 3 great grandchildren, a sister, Judy Bourne and Vanessa Carpenter.
