Leona Mae (Cherry) Fry

Leona M. (Cherry) Fry was called home on December 27, 2025.

She was born to the late Melvina and Leon Cherry.   Leona was united in marriage to her lifelong love, Benjamin Fry Jr. The two met at the age of 14 and were married at just 19 years old—a love that endured always and forever. Together, they raised three sons: Benjamin Fry Ill, Terrance Fry, and Michael Fry.

She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Ray Ferrara, Roland Ferrara, David Cherry, her twin sister Leola Cherry, and Helene Cherry; her sister-in-law Carol Williams; and her brother-in-law, the late Brain Fry. Leona was also the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Leona dedicated over 35 years of her life to working in the medical field as a Medical Technician. She truly loved her work and the people she served, always providing care, compassion, and genuine attention to everyone she encountered.

Family was at the heart of Leona's life. She enjoyed bowling leagues, traveling, and hosting family gatherings in her home-creating memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. She is also survived by a host of uncles, one aunt, and many nieces and nephews to whom she poured endless love and guidance.

Leona's kindness, devotion to family, and unwavering love will be cherished and remembered for years to come. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
