Obituary for Leo William “Boozie” Lassiter
Leo William Lassiter, affectionately known as “Boozie,” was born on November 5, 1939, in Raleigh, North Carolina, and peacefully passed away on January 27, 2026.
He was the beloved son of the late William “Chainey” Perry and Mammie (Horton) Lassiter. Leo was united in marriage to his loving wife, Josephine “Jojo” Lassiter, and together they shared 61 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, family, and dedication.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Brenda and Barbara Andrade; his grandchildren, Kyona, Aaron, Justice, and Jaaron Andrade; and his great-grandchildren, Da’Najha and Harleigh Andrade.
He also leaves behind his nephews, Edward, Brian, and Jerome Lassiter; his niece, Nicole Sebastian; his great-nephew, Edward “Pooh” Lassiter; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Leo was reunited in eternal rest with his twin sister, Cleo Lassiter; his brother, Willey “Tanner” Lassiter; his nephew, Joseph Lassiter; and his cherished granddaughter, Aarian Andrade.
For many decades, Leo was employed at the Narragansett Grey Iron Foundry, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. After retiring, he continued working by owning and operating a trash removal business. Leo had a true passion for working on cars and was happiest when keeping busy, fixing things, and lending a helping hand.
