Josefina Casilla

Josefina Casilla, 93 of Providence, RI,  joined our Heavenly Father on  Thursday October 21, 2021at 10:53am; surrounded by her family at Hope Hospice Center. Josefina was born on June 4th 1928 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.  She was the oldest of 3 children and the only daughter of the late Gaspar Casilla and Juana Anglon.

Josefina, a seamstress at the age of 14, immigrated to the United State on her own looking for a better life for her family in 1961. Where she continued to work as a seamstress in many factories in New York city where she resided for 41 years. She moved to Rhode Island in 2002 to be closer to her daughters and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her youngest brother Rafael Casilla. Her two daughters Mayra Carrasco and Nancy Ramirez. 7 Grandchildren Pedro, Kelvin, Michelle, Madeline, Roberto, Jesica and Jennifer. Along with her 13 Great-Grandchildren Lee-Ellis, Alexxander, Kelvin Jr, Alexa, Elijah, Iziah, Kian,Anaiah, Sophia, Alana, Noah, Zhara and Celeste.  As well as a host of other family and friends who loved her  and will miss her deeply.

Josefina Casilla, 93 de Providence, RI, se unió a nuestro Padre Celestial el Jueves 21 de Octubre de 2021 a las 10:53 am; rodeada de su familia en Hope Hospice Center. Josefina nació el 4 de Junio de 1928 en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Era la mayor de 3 hermanos y la única hija de los difuntos Gaspar Casilla y Juana Anglon.

Josefina, costurera a los 14 años, emigró sola a los Estados Unidos en busca de una vida mejor para su familia en 1961. Donde continuó trabajando como costurera en muchas fábricas de la ciudad de Nueva York donde residió durante 41 años. Se mudó a Rhode Island en 2002 para estar más cerca de sus hijas y nietos. 

Le sobrevive su hermano menor Rafael Casilla. Sus dos hijas Mayra Carrasco y Nancy Ramirez. 7 Nietos Pedro, Kelvin, Michelle, Madeline, Roberto, Jesica y Jennifer. Junto con sus 13 bisnietos Lee-Ellis, Alexxander, Kelvin Jr, Alexa, Elijah, Iziah, Kian, Anaiah, Sophia, Alana, Noah, Zhara y Celeste. Así como una gran cantidad de familiares y amigos que la amaban y la extrañará profundamente.
