Jonathan Jackson Pope, 50, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and passed away in his Pawtucket residence on October 24, 2022. He was the son of Vincent and Nancy Pope, of Providence, RI.
Jonathan, often referred to as “John John,” “JP,” or “Pope,” served in the United States Coast Guard, and attended DeVry University, where he received a bachelors in Computer Science. Shortly after, Jonathan started working as a Team Lead Integration Engineer at Boston Medical Center, where he worked for 18 years up until his passing. He was a funny, vibrant, talkative man, who made friends everywhere he went. Jonathan’s hobbies included reading, cooking, shopping, and most importantly making people laugh with his many stories and jokes. Jonathan was a loving person who devoted his life to taking care of those around him.
Besides his mother, Nancy Pope, Jonathan leaves to mourn his two daughters: Kiani and Dalila Pope; his step children, Jali Lopez, Kireina Lopez, and Dennis Cherry, all of Pawtucket. His siblings: Christopher Husband, Karima Pope-Robinson, and Abdul Pope, of Providence, and Dawn Lomba-Galbreath of Thomasville, NC and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Vincent Pope.
