Jolene Elizabeth Thomas 61, passed away peacefully at the Steere House Nursing Home in Providence, RI.
She was the daughter of the late Joel N. Thomas and Joan Moore.
Jolene was a dedicated worker at the Narragansett Electric Company for 18yrs before her retirement it 2002.
She enjoyed socializing with her friends while dancing, enjoying concerts and taking trips to the casino. She was a diehard sports fans, a true New Yorker with a love for the NY Yankees and NY Knicks.
Jolene dedicated her life to caring for her one and only daughter Enjoli. Even throughout her battle with Multiple Sclerosis she remained encouraging, strong and supportive of all her daughter’s endeavors.
She will be dearly missed by her daughter Enjoli M. Thomas of North Providence, RI, stepmother Bernice Thomas of Newburgh, NY, grandson Xyeer K. Strong-Johnson of Pawtucket, RI, sisters Suzanne Strait of Providence, RI and Donna (Carrington) Scott of Portsmouth, VA, brother Alan Thomas of Fredericksburg, VA, nieces Kristen M. Silvia-Finch of East Providence, RI, Sonya D. Wilkins of Lawrenceville, GA, Kimberly Peagler and Michelle Thomas of Raleigh, NC, nephews Mark Clements of Providence, RI, Malik Peagler and Andre Marshall of Providence, RI, as well as a host of great nieces and nephews and many friends that were like family.
Jolene was preceded in death by her parents Joel N. Thomas and Joan Moore, brothers Jeffrey K. Thomas and Joel Thomas, sister Marilyn Thomas.
She will forever live in our hearts as the classy, sassy, red lipstick wearing, vibrant free-spirited woman as we all knew her!
