Jeannine M. (Washington) Nembhard

Jeannine M. (Washington) Nembhard, 68, of Providence, RI, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026, following an extended illness. Jeannine was the devoted and lifelong partner of Jerome Costa.

Jeannine was born in Providence, RI, on August 11, 1957.  She was the daughter of the late Irving E. Washington and the late Josephine (Cardoza) Washington. She was the sister of    Renée (Washington) Brown, Irving E. Washington, Jr., and Victor Wilkins. Jeannine was the stepmother of Ciarra Jefferif and Joshua Jefferif. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she considered her children.

Jeannine was a graduate of East Providence High School and Lincoln Technical School. She spent the majority of her professional career working in the banking industry. In 2021, due to illness, Jeannine retired from Santander Bank.

Jeannine was multi-talented and enjoyed life. She was particularly skilled at crocheting and took great pleasure in creating beautiful items for family and friends. Jeannine also loved traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family.
