Jeannette Marie Brown, beloved mother, sister, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island. She was born on October 9, 1953, and lived her entire life surrounded by the community and people she loved.
Jeannette was the devoted daughter of Jeanne K. Brown and Stanley A. Brown Jr., both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her brothers Russell Brown and Steven Brown. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Linda Clinton, Carl Brown, and Dennis Brown.
She is survived by her daughter, Meghan V. Brown-Enyia, her son-in-law, Dr. Okechuku K. Enyia, and her cherished grandson, Ikenna K. Enyia. Jeannette also leaves behind her life partner, Archie Royster, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were like family to her.
Jeannette retired from Providence College after more than 30 years of dedicated service and was proud to have earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business there. She was an active and faithful member of Beneficent Congregational Church in Providence, where she contributed her time and talents to church committees and council.
She will be remembered for her strength, thoughtfulness, and deep love of music, nature, shopping, and good food. Her sense of style and her love of jewelry reflected the vibrant spirit she carried into every room.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jeannette’s spirit, generosity, and quiet strength left a lasting imprint on the lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished always by those who had the joy of knowing her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Providence. A remembrance service will also be held in October at her home church, Beneficent Congregational Church.
