Jean L. Silva, 63 of Providence, RI was born on July 9, 1957. She passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Providence. She is the eldest daughter of Priscilla and Raymond Smith and the late John L. Silva. She attended Classical High School and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Elmwood Nursing Center and Cherry Hill Nursing Home. Prior to her work as a C.N.A., Jean managed several chain restaurants.
Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends when not working.
She will be remembered for her detailed and humorous storytelling. In her younger years, Jean was an avid basketball fan and would have her siblings yelling and screaming along with her as they all cheered for the Providence College Friars. She also loved the New England Patriots football team.
During Jean’s brief illness, she still loved to attend family cookouts and events up until it became too difficult to do so.
Jean leaves behind two children, George Redwood and Justina Redwood, five grandchildren; Geonna Monroe, Isaiah, Savannah, Justin and Nasir Redwood; two sisters, Jacquelyn L. Moreino (Brother-in-law Joe) and Debra L. Silva-Hill (Greg, Brother-in-law) and a brother John L. Silva, Jr. (Florence – Sister-in-law). She was predeceased by her sister Tina M. Silva.
She is also survived by several nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews whom she loved spending time with.
Jean will be greatly missed by her family and close friends. She will be remembered for trying her best to help when and where she could.
