Janie A. Reeves

It is with deep regrets and heavy-hearts that the Reeves, Forte, Redd and Davis families of the United States and Liberia announce the transition of our beloved Mother, Grand Mother, Great- Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, Mrs. Janie A. Forte Reeves.   This sad event occurred on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the precise hour of 5:30pm at the Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island, USA, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, sister and her friend, Mrs. Martha Charley. 
The late Janie A. Forte Reeves, worked tirelessly for more than 24 years with The Liberia National Police (LNP) in Buchanan and Monrovia, Liberia, respectively. In 2002, she migrated to Rhode Island, the United States and worked faithfully until she retired in 2023. Well done, “Mama”. 
Janie was predeceased by her parents, Jimmy & Amelia Forte, husband, Mr. Eric E. Reeves Sr., siblings; Margaret, Joshua, Wiley, David, James T. (JT), Amelia, Joseph, Laura, Irene, Victor, and many other relatives.
Janie lived well and to mourn her loss are her children; Vivian R. Swaray (Edward) Jacqueline A. Reeves, Erica J. Reeves, Dr Love T. Dean, Cressinda Reeves, Myrtle R. Davis, Elizabeth Togba, Shirley Reeves, Eric E. Reeves Jr., Sando Mannah, 34 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, siblings: Rachel E. Forte and Elijah A. Barnard (Selcon) and a host of many relatives. She was a faithful member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and also a devoted member of the United Bassa Association in The Americas (UNIBOA), both local and national. She will be missed dearly.
