Gardeah Jacob Myers, 68, of Providence, RI passed away on January 19, 2023. He was born March 13, 1954 to Myer Krangar and Nahnee Briggs in Grand Bassa County, in Liberia, West Africa. He began his early and secondary education in Liberia before emigrating to the United States in 1980. Prior to his move to the United States, he met his wife (Beatrice N. Myers) at JFK Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia in 1976. In 1981, his wife joined him in the U.S. When he arrived to the United States, he continued to pursue his higher education while working as a Phlebotomist at the former Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, RI. He worked at Memorial Hospital for 35 years until he retired in 2019. During this time, he received his Bachelors in Healthcare Administration from Providence College in Providence, RI. He leaves behind nine children and fifteen grandchildren, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. It is important to note that Mr. Myers was very active in the community and belonged to numerous community organizations where he was a leader, father and brother to many. He will forever be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and empathetic heart. He was the epitome of “WE ARE OUR BROTHER’S KEEPER” – something he constantly reiterated to those who knew him. He will always be missed and always be in the hearts of his family and friends.
