Fernando Albizu

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Fernando Albizu, age 67 of Providence, R.I. Fernando passed away Saturday,  March 27, 2021 at The Miriam Hospital after fighting a heroic battle with Covid-19.

Born on July 9, 1953 in San Pedro Macoris, D.R.  Fernando was the son of the late Christina Rodriguez and Diego Albizu also from San Pedro Macoris, D.R. 

In 1977 Fernando traveled to the United States where he resided in New York City before calling Providence, Rhode Island his home, where he met the love of his life Nancy Espinal whom he married in 1981.

Fernando is survived by his father,  Diego Albizu; his wife, Nancy Albizu; his children, Fernando A. Jr, Nanleoespy, Nanleomariz, and Ferlbiz Albizu; his grandchildren, Jayden N. and Adrian A. Albizu, and many brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his second eldest son, Fernalbiz Albizu.

Mr. Albizu was a beloved son, devoted husband, loving father, and valorous grandfather. His life was his devotion to his family, his support was unconditional and every decision he made was with his family in mind. Fernando was a successful business owner alongside his wife for most of his life while raising their children and creating beautiful childhood memories for them.

Fernando was a very spiritual man and belonged to the Church of the Ascension where he was a member of the Vestry and served  In the capacity as a junior warden. He was also a member of the choir and loved to pray and sing to our lord. Fernando was an active member in our community where he served in different capacities. He was always willing to answer the call and lend a helping hand.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
