Surrounded by family, special friends, hymns, love and flowers during her final days, Eufemia ‘Mamita’ Mota passed peacefully on July 25, 2024. The last of her generation. 

Beloved Mother of five, grandmother of 12, great grand Mother of 14. 

A long time resident of Providence and founding member of the Providence Spanish Seventh Day Adventist church. 

Mamita, your caring, giving, hard work, disciplined, courageous, strong, selfless and fighting spirit had no match. Your cooking was exceptional and too many other skills to list.  

You were loved more than you’ll ever know. A long life well lived, forever in our hearts until the glorious resurrection morning, for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.’

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. El que habita al abrigo del Altísimo morará bajo la sombra del Omnipotente.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Diré yo a Jehová: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío; 
Mi Dios, en quien confiaré.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

Que te guarden en todos tus caminos.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. En las manos te llevarán, para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Sobre el león y el áspid pisarás;
Hollarás al cachorro del león y al dragón.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 
Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su amor, yo también lo libraré; le pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi nombre.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. Me invocará, y yo le responderé; Con él estaré yo en la angustia;
Lo libraré y le glorificaré.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Lo saciaré de larga vida, 
Y le mostraré mi salvación.
