Elaine Hope (Weeden) Wilson
October 6, 1931 – July 23, 2020
Elaine Hope (Weeden) Wilson, 88, of Cranston passed in peace to be with the Lord on July 23, 2020. She was the daughter of the late James H. Weeden and the late Fannie I. Weeden (Jennings). She was the wife of the late Kent G. Wilson.
Born in Providence, she attended Central High School and the Conservatory of Music in Boston. She was formerly employed at The Rockefeller Library at Brown University for many years before changing her career to banking at Citizen’s Bank. She loved church and was an avid reader of the Bible and other Christian literature. She loved the Lord and would share her thoughts and values to those she came in contact with throughout the day. She was a member of Olney Street Baptist Church and would often attend Women’s Ministry meetings when she was able. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to walk and was an excellent cook.
She was the mother of the late Elaine Joy Wilson, the late Susan (Wilson) Alves, Idela Wilson, Brenda Wilson and Dawn (Wilson) Sumner. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by those who had opportunity to know such a special lady. A memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Scandinavian Home in Cranston RI.
