We are gathered here to honor and remember our beloved Earl Hines.
Earl Hines, 87, passed away peacefully on Jan 1, 2026 in Warwick, RI. He was the
beloved husband of Linda Kilgore. Earl was born in Birmingham, Alabama on
August 18, 1938. Earl was 1 of 8 children from the union of Ernest Hines Sr. and
Ella May (Stanley) Hines. Earl had a total of 19 siblings.
Earl joined the Armed Forces from March 1956 until April 1958. He was stationed
in Coventry RI. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military, Earl
made RI his home.
Earl began his career working in numerous foundries around the region. He began
a new career as a Machinist at Rhode Island Textiles in Pawtucket RI in 1988,
where he stayed until his retirement in 2004.
Earl joined God’s House in 2018, where he was elevated to Father Hines in 2022
by Bishop Dwight Dove, Presider of Morning Star Fellowship Assemblies. This
was a proud moment is his life. He wore that title with GREAT honor. Father Hines
was the recipient of an award for his commitment and dedication to the House of
the Lord. He was proud of his spiritual accomplishments.
Every Wednesday, God’s House has prayer on a teleconference line. At the end of
the prayer, Father Hines would say “God bless you, Bishop and Mother Dove,
Mother Sye, my wife and please bless God's House.” This is a testament to his
dedication to the church and his church family.
Earl leaves to honor his memory, his wife of 44 years, Linda Kilgore, Robert Hines
of NC, Brian Lassiter of TX, Edward Hines of RI, Jerome Hines of RI and
Emerson Kilgore of RI and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great
grandchildren - of special mention: Nicole Sebastian, Lynda Martin, Ronald
Butcher and Alpheus Butcher.
Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Butcher and son, Joseph (Slick)
Lassiter.
