Donna Y. Hickman

Donna Yvette Hickman was born May 22, 1954, in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Marlene (Monteiro)Valentine and Harold Lewis. She passed away in her home surrounded by her daughters on June 29, 2023, in Surprise, Arizona.
 
She has been reunited in heaven with her husband, Robert Thomas Hickman, Jr. who passed away in 2010. Donna was a devoted wife to Robert for 34 years and in that union, they had Marion and Christina. She was a wonderful mother to her daughters and a loving grandmother to her 7 grandchildren. Donna was known for her sense of humor and her love for her family and people close to her. She loved to entertain, she was a cook and she loved being with her family. Donna was a huge advocate for her family, and she was well known for standing up for herself, her family and for what was right. 
 
Donna was a believer in Jesus Christ. She loved the Lord, the church, and God's people. In her late 30's to 50's she served along with her husband on the Usher Board, Deacon Board and Pastor's Aide Committee. She was a fierce protector of God's house. Donna also had a gift for working with children with special needs as she was an educator for over 20 years. Donna loved spending time with her family, cooking large meals and watching her favorite team play football, The New England Patriots.
 
She is survived by her two daughters Marion (Marti) Pearson, (Corey) of Phoenix, AZ and Christina Childs of Surprise, AZ. Her grandchildren that she loved so dearly, Paris Pearson, Deja Pearson, Peyton Pearson, Ariana Childs, Ayanna Childs, Carter Childs, and Cameryn Childs. She is also survived by her loving aunt Lynda Johnson, her brothers and sisters and a host of family and friends.
