Dominicana Esperanza Reyes

Dominicana Esperanza Reyes, fondly known as Sila, transitioned to her heavenly home quietly and peacefully in her sleep on December 9, 2023. She was born on December 30, 1937, at San Jose De Los LLanos in the Dominican Republic. She and her twin sister, Caridad Reyes, were the middle of nine children.

Sila is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, her oldest son, Tavares Reyes, and her partner of 40 years, Miguel Minaya Rosario.

She leaves her children, Máximo Reyes, Ramón Reyes, Georgina Perez Minaya, Maria Teresa Minaya, Roberto Minaya, Francisca Reyes, Julio César Minaya, Marisol Reyes; four siblings; thirty grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild to cherish her precious memories.

Although small in stature she leaves her family and all who knew her with lasting memories of a woman of great Catholic faith and love for her family. She was caring, loveable, lovely, funny, witty, sometimes sarcastic, yet humble in her spirit. She loved to dance and was known to be very feisty in her old age. You could always rely on Sila to give the best advice even if you didn't want to hear it.

She maintained a remarkable gift of memory throughout her life as she was able to keep all of her children's phone numbers and birthdays by memory.

Though her strong faith she would often recite

Psalm 118 that begins" Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever"

Sila's love will also remain with us and she will be will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Dominicana Esperanza Reyes, tambien conocida como 'Sila' hizo la transicion a su hogar celestial, tranquila y pacificamente mientras dormia el 9 de Diciembre, 2023. Sila nacio el 30 de Diciembre, 1937 en San Jose de Los Llanos, Republica Dominicana. Ella y su hermana gemela, Caridad

Reyes, eran las hijas intermedias de 9 hijos.

A Sila le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, cuatro hermanos, su hijo mayor, Tavares Reyes, y su pareja durante 40 años, Miguel Minaya Rosario.

Minaya, Maria Teresa Minaya, Roberto Minaya, Francisa Reyes, Julio Cesar Minaya, Marisol Reyes; cuatros hermanos; treinta nietos; cincuenta y siete bisnietos; y una tataranieta para atesorar sus preciosos recuerdos.

Aunque pequena de estatura, deja a su familia y a todos los que la conocieron recuerdos durareros de una mujer de gran fe Catolica y amor para su familia. Era cariñosa, adorable, encantadora, divertida, ingeniosa, a veces sarcastica, pero humilde de espiritu. Le encantaba bailar y era conocida por ser muy luchadora en su vejez. Siempre podias confiar en Sila para darte los mejores consejos, incluso si no querias escucharlo. Sila mantuvo un notable don de memoria a lo largo de su vida, ya que pudo guardar de memoria todos los numeros de telefono de sus hijos.

A traves de su fuerte fe, a menudo recitaba el Salmo 118 que comienza Alabad a Jehova, porque el es bueno; porque para siempre es su

misericordia'
