Cookie Java Correy

It is with great sadness that family and friends announce the passing of Cookie Java Correy, who departed this life on January 22, 2026. Cookie was deeply loved and cherished by many. Known as a true mother of the community, she devoted her life to helping, caring for, and uplifting others, always offering kindness, strength, and love to those around her.

Cookie was born on November 11, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Janice Mae Correy and Tyrone Duncan. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Stella Correy.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Theodore Correy; her nephews Zachary Goon, Talcari Correy, Daquon Correy, and Lovelle Barnes; her aunt Roberta Correy; and her uncles David Correy and Charles Correy, of Florida as well as her dear sister/friend Renee McClain. Cookie also leaves behind countless friends and community members whose lives were touched by her compassion and generosity.

Cookie Java Correy will be remembered for her loving heart, her selflessness, and the lasting impact she made on everyone she encountered. Her legacy of care and community will live on forever.
