It is with profound sadness that the Massah, Goodridge, Garnett, Freeman, Sarmu, Simpson and Brown Families regretfully announce the passing of their beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Cousin. Her peaceful transition occurred after a brief period of illness on Thursday, September 10th, 2020 at Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island in Coventry, Rhode Island (USA).
Ms. Cleopatra J. Goodridge was affectionately called “Big Sister” or “Cleo”. She was predeceased by her mother, Mrs. Johnetta Murray Goodridge; father, Deacon John Edmund Goodridge; son, Rinsford Goodridge; husband, Moses Massah; and brothers, Gregory Goodridge and John Goodridge.
She leaves to mourn her sudden passing and celebrate her precious life, her beloved and devoted children: Mrs. Joyce “Helen” Green-Freeman (Edwin), Mr. Byron Peters, Ms. Willfemi Sarmu, Mr. Majil “Old-boy” Sarmu; step-children: Mrs. Vecu Massah-Davis (Moses), Mr. Chris Massah, and Ms. Abigail Massah; siblings: Mr. William R. Goodridge, I (Verida), Mrs. Eliza V. Simpson (Joseph), Mr. Clarence A. Goodridge, Ms. Bellie Goodridge, Mr. Edwin Goodridge, and Mr. Isaac Sarmu (Jestina); uncles: Mr. Richmond Goodridge, Sr. and Mr. Uriel Murray (Margaret); aunts: Mrs. Theresa Clinton and Mrs. Florence Beatrice Johnson; grandchildren: Hamilton G. “Soyee” Russ, Jr., Franpatra “K2” Goodridge, Chelsea “Leeanda” Peters, Adrian Russ, Marvin Peters, Ellen Maya Sarmu, Betsy Zeniya Wolloh, Sohn Mar Davis, Rinsford Peters, Majil K. Massah, Leangra Peters, and Denzel Teah; great grandson: Landon David Russ; former sisters-in-law, Mrs. Williametta Thorpe and Mrs. Renee Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, loved ones, and friends in the USA and Liberia.
Funeral Service:
Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, CDC (Centers for Disease Control & Prevention) mandate will be observed. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.
