Clarence James Walker 83 years old a beloved resident of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2025.
Born in Collins, Mississippi, on February 23rd, 1942, to the late Mattie Helen Wheeler (Walker) and James Walker.
Clarence was a dedicated sports enthusiast, particularly fond of horse racing, and worked at racetracks for many years, traveling with the races before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Augusta (Decou) Walker; his daughter, Robin A. Walker-Thomas; his son, Clarence James Smith; son-in-law, Anthony Thomas; 9 grandchildren; Rondell, Jacob, Clarence III, Jadai, Chyenne, Donte, Thearrol Jr., Nicole, and Tierney; his 6 great-grandchildren, Soriya, Layla, Tranae, Thearrol III, Noelani, and Zavien; his 2 sisters, Annie and Yvette Wheeler; his 2 nephews, Stephan and Pedro Wheeler; his niece, Naydia; and cousins
Clarence was preceded in death by his sons Wayne and Thearrol Walker, great-grandson Jaziel, nephew Laurence, He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
