Charles Williams, of North Providence, RI, passed away on March 24, 2026 at the age of 75, leaving behind a life marked by hard work and perseverance.
He was born in Richland, Georgia, and spent part of his early life in Hartford, Connecticut, and eventually making Providence, RI his permanent home. Charles proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and worked throughout his life in various roles, including manufacturing, construction, recycling, and at Pratt & Whitney. He retired from the VA hospital.
Charles’ magnetic presence, warmth, and genuine spirit lit up every room he entered, creating lasting friendships throughout his beloved community.
He spent his later years in North Providence, Rhode Island, where he valued a quiet life and remained close to his family.
Charles is remembered for his straightforward wisdom, resilience, and enduring love for his family. His parting advice reflects the way he lived: “Life is out there, and you have to take it.”
He is survived by his daughter, Charlee Correia and step-daughter Ebony Correia; his mother, Ethel Mae Williams; his three sisters, Barbara Middleton, Emma Jones, and Geraldine (Douglas) Patterson; his grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, as well as extended family members across Georgia, Rhode Island. He is preceded in death by his father Abraham Prince; and step-father Issac Williams Jr.
Charles Williams will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private service will be held by the family, and an open repass service will be held on April 4, 2026, 1pm – 4pm at JL’s Dana’s Lounge, 1410 Mineral Springs, North Providence, RI (behind Speedway).
