In Loving Memory of Britt Cruiser Benford
Britt Cruiser Benford of Providence, Rhode Island, passed from this life on October 6, 2025, at 9:58 a.m. He was 57 years old.
Britt was the son of the late Forrest Edward Benford (Senior Chief, USN Ret.) and Mary Cecelia (Morrison) Benford. He was the brother of Larock W. Benford (Sgt. Maj., USMC Ret.), Booker T.
Benford, and Craig D. Benford, and the late Forrest E. "Flint" Benford.
Britt was married to Evelyn Marie (Benford) Woods and was a devoted stepfather to Benjamin L.
Woods, Venetta C. Richard, M. Claudia D., and Keona M. Isom. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather who was cherished deeply by his family.
Britt loved spending time with his grandchildren, taking them on adventures, and sharing his love of old Western movies and football. He also had a deep self-love for weight training and took pride in maintaining his strength and discipline. He worked for Magic City Home Improvement for 15 years, where he was known for his dedication and skill. Britt stayed in highly active physical condition, and no matter where he was in life, he would always call me (Marie) and ask for Heaven and Niy Niy.
Britt's favorite saying was, "Rough, rugged, and raw — it gets greater later." His optimism, humor, and strength brought joy to everyone who knew him.
He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. No matter where Britt was in life, he always reached out to those he cared for, offering kindness, laughter, and
Britt will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
