Brewer N “Moses Weah” Buwee
Brewer Nuwon “Moses Weah” Buwee was born September 20, 1943 in Glarro Free- town, River Gee County to Molee Buwee and Yieron Wabio Buwee. Brewer was the oldest of five children. Brewer lived with his grandmother until he was a teenager and later moved to live with his uncle in Freetown where he attended elementary and middle school. He was always known to have a humble spirit; and because of his humble spirit and intelligence both academically and personally, Brewer was approached by one of the missionaries of the AG Church of God in Christ and the missionary offered him a scholarship to Booker Washington Institute (BWI) where he studied Electrical Mechanic. Upon graduation, his employment included working for the Liberia Electric Company (PUA) and Voice of America (VOA).
Brewer met and married his wife Mary T. Buwee in 1964. Because of his desire to provide the best for his family, he decided to uproot and move to Careysburg, Liberia where he lived and work at Voice of America (VOA) for over 25 years and up to the Liberian Civil War as a power plant operator. In 1991 he relocate his entire household to Providence, Rhode Island to yet provide them greener pasture.
Generosity was one of Brewer’s most important qualities and God sent him the perfect partner to make that possible. Brewer and his wife loved helping their extended families and others. Brewer was devoted to his family and the education of his family and other children.
Brewer was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Providence, Rhode Island. Brewer loved the Lord he would often sit in his apartment and read his Bible all day with no distractions and or interruptions.
Brewer was predeceased in death by parents Molee Buwee and Yieron Wabio Buwee, his two sisters, his son Ben T. Buwee and his wife of over 50 years, Mrs. Mary T. Buwee.
