Mrs. Betty J. Akinbi was born on May 5, 1962 in Wake County North Carolina. The daughter of the late Vernell Hines and William H Foster. She went home to be with the Lord on November 29,2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Adewole Wally Akinbi.
At the early age she professed her faith in Christ and joined Old Liberty Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member. She later became a member of Hood Shaw Memorial A.M.E Zion Church.
Betty was a graduate of the Community College of Rhode Island. Betty worked as a school bus driver as well as a CNA for years.
Betty loved her family and would love to open her doors to anyone who needed a hand. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people, especially making those special meals that her sons enjoyed on each of their birthdays.
Besides her husband Adewole she leaves to mourn, her 5 sons Ricky Foster (Chante Foster), Terry Mann, Patrick Mann, Shelton Mann Jr, and Christopher Mann (Tiffany) all of Providence, RI. She was preceded in death by her son Adarrelle Mann, her sister Phyllis Lassiter, father William H. Foster and her dearest mother Vernell Hines. Eleven grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews and her stepdad Jimmie Hines of Wake Forest North Carolina. Her siblings Teresa Rembert of Providence RI, Ann Foster of Wake Forest North Carolina, Lisa Jones of Franklinton North Carolina, Tammy Foster of Wake Forest North Carolina, Mike Jones of Bunn North Carolina, Claude Foster of Providence RI, Barry Foster of Raleigh North Carolina, Cedrick Jones of Willington North Carolina, and Timothy Foster of Providence RI.
Betty was also the stepmother to Adewole Jr. and Kayode Akinbi of Providence, RI
