Barbara J. Gittings

Barbara Jean Gittings (Maxie), age 74, died on May 24, 2021 in Warwick RI.  She was born in Birmingham, AL on March 24, 1947, daughter of the late Jessie Lee Maxie (Chancey) and the late Joe Maxie Jr.   She is survived by her sister, Janice Clark of Coventry, her brother Alamin Muhammad of Athol, MA, aunt Mary Powell, cousins in Michigan, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.  
Barbara lived in California for many years, before moving to Rhode Island.  She loved her family immensely, never forgot a birthday and always made people laugh with her vibrant personality.   She will be missed tremendously.
