Barbara Ann (Watson) Davis of East Providence, RI ascended to her heavenly mansion on August 20, 2022.  She passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her husband Rev. Ted C. Davis, Sr. and their son, Ted C. Davis, Jr.

Barbara was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on January 27, 1942.  She was the daughter of Deacon Sammy Watson Sr. and Rosie Less (Pinkney) Watson.

She was united in matrimony to Rev. Ted C. Davis, Sr. on May 15, 1962.  They are the proud parents of two (2) daughters, Carolyn Regina Davis (deceased), Cynthia Michelle Davis (deceased) and one (1) son Ted C. Davis, Jr (Pawtucket, RI).  Rev and Mrs. Ted C. Davis celebrated their (60th) anniversary on May 15, 2022.

She was a faithful member of The Allen A.M.E. Church, 163 Bellevue Ave., Providence, RI.  Mrs. Davis was a devoted and compassionate member of The Allen A.M.E Church missionary board. 

She previously served as First Lady at The Bethel A.M.E. Church, Plymouth, MA, The MT. Zion A.M.E. Church, Newport, RI and The Bethel A.M.E. Church, Fall River, MA. 

Mrs. Davis graduated from Dyman Vocational (Fall River, MA) as a (L.P.N.) Licensed Practical Nurse.  She worked as an L.P.N. at the Union Hospital, Fall River, MA.  She continued her nursing career as the charge nurse at the Bay Tower Healthcare Center, Providence, RI. 

She is proceeded in death by (father) Sammy Watson Sr., (mother) Rosie Lee Watson and daughters Carolyn R. Davis and Cynthia M. Davis. 

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories Rev. Ted C. Davis, Sr., Ted C. Davis, Jr., grandchildren Timothy P. Davis (Tiffany), Tyrone Davis, LaKeisha Davis, Kayla Davis, Jayden Davis, great grandchildren Julius, Jae’leece, Julianna, Jaylen, Rashaad, and Keyanna.  Sisters Verna Davis, Elsie Louise Hargrove, Amy Lee Miles and Lelia Dassau.  Brothers Sammy Watson, Jr., Rev. Will Watson (Alma) and Herbert Watson as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

“I am in heaven dear ones.  I am home in heaven dear ones. Oh so happy and bright.  There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.  All the pain and grief is over.  Every restless tossing is passed.  I am now at peace.  Forever safely home in heaven at last!!!”
