Antonia E. Parra

Antonia Parra Estrella, 86, passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2021 in her home surrounded by family.  She was born in Rio Grande, Altamira (Province of Puerto Plata) Dominican Republic on June 5th, 1935 to her late parents Isaiah Estrella and Francisca Hiraldo.  Antonia was married to, her one true love, the late Enrique Parra and together they shared 7 wonderful children.  She leaves behind Josefina Parra, Gregorio “Rafelito” Parra, Francisco Parra, Ivelise Ruggieri, Maria “Marilyn” Parra, AnaMaria “Nuna” Parra, and Ana “Chucu” Kosinski; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and cherished son-in-laws.

Antonia enjoyed many things in life some of which were cooking, dancing, traveling, looking her best, and spending time with her cat Zoey or as she loved to call her “Shunga”.  She also dedicated her life to helping raise her grandchildren; they often enjoyed going for walks, going clothes shopping, coming together for family gatherings, and sharing tons of laughs.  Antonia was strong, determined, and had a feisty personality, but her best personality trait was her infectious laugh that could brighten up anyone’s day.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away, and although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best.

Antonia was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Antonia Parra Estrella, 86, falleció en paz el 6 de Junio del 2021 en su casa rodeada de toda su familia. Ella nació en Río Grande, Altamira, (Provincia Puerta Plata) República Dominicana el 5 de Junio del 1935 a sus difuntos padres Isaiah Estrella y Francisca Hiraldo. Antonia estuvo casada con el amor de su vida Enrique Parra y juntos crearon 7 maravillosos hijos. Antonia dejó 7 hijos: Josefina Parra, Gregorio "Rafelito" Parra, Francisco Parra, Ivelise Ruggieri, Maria "Marilyn" Parra, AnaMaria "Nuna" Parra, y Ana "Chucu" Kosinski; en adición a numerosos nietos, bisnietos, tataranietos y sus queridos yernos.

Antonia disfruto de muchas cosas en la vida incluyendo cocinando, bailando, viajando, manteniéndose bonita, y jugando con su gato Zoey o como ella le gustaba decirle "Shunga". Ella también dedicó su vida a ayudar a criar a sus nietos.  Juntos ellos les encantaban salir a caminar, ir a la tienda a comprar ropa, juntarse con la familia entera, y compartir muchos chistes.  Antonia era una persona fuerte, determinada, y tenia una personalidad luchadora, pero su mejor rasgo de personalidad era su risa contagiosa que podia alegrarle el dia a cualquiera.

Dios vio que te estabas cansando, y una cura no estaba esperando, entonces estrecho sus brazos y murmuro “ven a mi lado”. Llorando te observamos, y te vimos ya partir aunque nuestro amor era muy grande nada te pararia de ir.  Tu corazon de oro dejo de latir, tus manos activas descansaron. Dios destrozo nuestro corazon para comprobar que solo se lleva lo major.

Antonia fue amada por muchos y siempre la extrañaremos.
