With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Anitha Guillaume, 96, who passed away Sunday morning March 23rd, 2025 at home. She was a resident of Cranston most of her life. Additionally, she was a loving wife, mother, aunt, friend and grandmother, who will be deeply missed. She also was a woman of great strength and kindness.
Born in La Colline D'Aquin Haiti, a daughter of the late Lya Guillaume and Iram Guillaume. Anitha was employed in her business in Haiti selling things such as rice, sugar, flour, beans, oil, etc up until 1984. In 1989 she then moved to the United States to care for her grandchildren. Her many interests included working her business (back in Haiti), playing dominos, watching TV (which is where she learned her bit of English from), she also enjoyed going to church, and enjoyed eating a good meal. One of the many things Anitha loved the most was spending time with her grandchildren. She loved each and every one of them.
She was predeceased by her husband Eli Joseph. Overall she had 10 kids but is survived by three children, Sounay Joseph, Enante Joseph Clovis and Enoy Guillaume. She also is survived by her 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Anitha also left behind many nieces, nephew's and cousins.
