Anite Dure, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Providence, Rhode Island, at the age of 91.
Born in Haiti in 1933 to Hypomene and Victor, Anite lived a life marked by faith, love, and resilience. She married the love of her life, Jean Formelus Dure, in 1967. In 1984, she immigrated to the United States, where she worked as a factory worker and built a legacy of hard work, devotion, and compassion.
A deeply spiritual woman, Anite was committed to her church and community. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time and was known for her warm heart and generous spirit.
Anite is survived by her loving husband, Jean Formelus Dure; her children Rene Dure, Jean Bernard Dure, and Alex Dure; and her stepchildren Anne Peavy, Katania Dure, Jerone Brown, and Liliane Brown. She is also survived by her cherished siblings Olive Lauture, Agnes Lauture, and Andre Lauture.
Anite leaves behind 26 beloved grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a large extended family who will miss her dearly.
Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her, and her memory will be a source of comfort and inspiration.
