Angela Silfa Parra Obituary

Angela Silfa, a loving mother, grandmother, and warrior of life, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020, at the age of 54.

Angela is survived by her mother, Gerenalda Parra; her husband, Norberto Aguilar; her children, Doris-Gabriella, Caroline, and Carlos Silfa; her three grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters. She is predeceased by her father, Carlos Americo Silfa; and her sister, Esther Thomas Parra.

Angela was born in the Dominican Republic on February 1, 1966, to Gerenalda Parra and Carlos Americo Silfa.  She battled cancer for over 15 years, but she never allowed her struggles to control her life and her decisions. Angela truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as listening to Omega, chatting with friends and family, eating her favorite Dominican dishes (like frituras) as well as her favorite snacks (cheez-it and goldfish). Most importantly, Angela enjoyed spending time with her three children and three grandchildren, Jayden, Phoenix and David.

She had a contagious love for dominican Folklore and traveled to the country any chance she would get.

Throughout her life, Angela touched many lives with her generosity, courageous acts, and love for life. She is described by her children as “The Queen” of their lives, the best mother any child could ever ask for.

No one who met Angela forgot her infectious laughs and talks about the music and adventures of her youth. Everyone knew she wasn’t a woman of many words, but her love for people always spoke louder, almost as if spreading love and joy to others was her way of communicating.
