Wednesday, May 16, 2018, Willie Mae Lopes of Providence Rhode Island quietly entered into eternal rest while at Banister House, the neighborhood nursing facility.
Willie Mae Lopes, born October 20, 1948 to Lillie Mae Spruill and the late Robert Wooten in Goldsboro, North Carolina. She was the Mother of the late Maurice Spruill, and the big sister of the late Anthony Spruill and Judy Wooten.
Willie Mae was educated in Goldsboro, North Carolina public schools. Willie Mae, Loved the Lord, and attended Church Service as often as she could.
Willie Mae leaves to Cherish her memories, her Mother, Lillie Mae Lewis, five aunts: Katie Spruill and Loletta Little of Providence, Rhode Island, Allene Rawlings of Washington DC, Kissy Wooten and LeVonne Carroll of Goldsboro, North Carolina. A dear cousin Andre Little of Providence, Rhode Island and a host of cousins, Family and Friends.
Willie Mae loved to play word puzzles, card games, watching TV game shows, listening to music, and dancing. Willie Mae brought smiles and laughter to her family through dance and she won many dance competitions “doing the butt” and “the twist”. She loved to attend all of the family activities, especially family cook-outs and parties. She loved traveling to Washington DC, North Carolina, and to Oklahoma City to visit family with her Mother.
She was a Momma’s baby until the end. She Love her family, especially her auntie Katie who she would always call if she needed someone to talk to. She was loved by many, and will be truly missed by Family and Friends.
