William Franklin Waite "Quakey", 88, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI on July 3, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 16, 1930 in Warwick RI. He lived in Pawtucket, RI before moving to Providence, RI where he then resided for many years. William F. Waite was the son of the late Walter L. Waite and Lettie H. (Robinson) Waite. He was a loving husband to Elaine E Waite for 53 years. William is survived by his wife and two children; Elaine E. (Penny) Waite and William E. (Billy) Waite.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army. William held various jobs throughout his life. In the years preceding his retirement, he worked as a forklift operator for the Stanley Bostich Company and a maintenance supervisor for Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Before William became ill, he enjoyed playing poker at Foxwoods Casino.
He was preceded in death by five sisters Cynthia Jackson, Dorothy Carr, Marjorie Turner, Laura Balcom and Clara Hampton and one brother, Clarence Waite. Besides his wife and children, William leaves three grandchildren, Anthony Waite, Brittney Billington, and Zhanique Waite; two sisters in law, Minster Lela Salter and Phyllis Ross- Patterson; a grand-daughter in law, Marlene Waite; eldest niece, Dorothy Davis; five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
